Happy New Year, 2007

Dear friends,

This Christmas season, Merci Asian Directors, Chris and Vicky Bowman have been involved with several charity projects.

Firstly, while Chris was in Thailand on Medical Clinic, Vicky and our DCC (Dalian City Church)held a fund-raising dinner for Mr. Wei, who was a legless beggar.

Just under $2,000 was raised and Vicky went to Beijing with the Weis and a member of the Korean business community to help Mr. Wei obtain his new legs. The Weis came to our house just before Christmas Eve and Mr. Wei was walking unassisted on his new legs.

We will send a picture of this with our newsletter in New Year!

Vicky also headed up the outreach to homeless and beggars, going out daily to visit the poor and invite them for lunch. Many were blessed.

The children at the Street Kids shelter all received gifts as did those at the Orphanage, where MERCI sponsors monthly birthday parties.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas day, Chris and Nathalie headed up our carolling team with outreach at 4 restaurants.

Many people have been visiting since.

Visitation to a girl with back problems, providing surgery for a lady with heart problems were among other activities, as well as two Christmas services at DCC and Christmas dinner at home.
